Green Gables – Our House

Can I just say I NEVER thought I’d live in such a story book house? EVER. When I saw this home for sale online (when we still lived in Oregon) my little decorator heart went ‘pitter patter’ and I thought ‘If only!’. I never dreamed it would stay on the market long enough for us to get out to MO and see it, let alone actually be able to live in it! It was a dream come true when the whole thing became reality and we got the ‘keys’ to the kingdom and started the move in process. This picture was one of the first ones I took after we became the owners and I don’t think it could look more perfect, do you??

The previous owners christened it “Green Gables” and actually had a plaque made up and mounted on the carriage light out front I think it suits the house perfectly and have no intention of removing it.

How fun is that?! Its how the English do…name their homes and properties like”Pemberly”, “Cotswold House” and “Wisteria Manor”. How divine! Its like a small part of my world is now a Jane Austin novel. LOL

We have gotten to see the garden in all 4 seasons now and I have plans to remove all the grass along the front (eventually) and make a wandering English cottage garden across the front of the house. After the cut flower garden gets up and going of course! Priorities!

In keeping with the “English Cottage” theme I have started decorating the interior in that same feel…but that’s a post for another time. 🙂

Have a Blessed and Wonderfully Gnomie Day!

Eileen

I'd be so honored if you decided to subscribe!  But no worries - you can always come back again to see what's new in the Garden!

Your new home is beautiful, just like your others. The best part about them, is always the hospitality shown to all who enter. 💝
