MY LITTLE YELLOW CRAFT ROOM

Crafting fills my life! and my closets…..and my drawers!

It was almost NINE MONTHS before I was able to unpack my craft room boxes after our move. Nothing was more satisfying than to unpack each box with an eager anticipation of “What’s in THIS one?!” and loving the feeling of joy it brought me to ‘remember’ all the stuff it contained. It was like Christmas in May and I was in heaven! The next best thing? ORGANIZING IT. Woo hoo!!! I honestly don’t know which thing I like better…buying and using craft stuff OR… buying and then organizing craft stuff! Both scenarios bring joy to my little gnome heart. 🙂

In our new Missouri home, I wanted to get double use out of a bedroom that is upstairs (which I affectionately call The Tower) so I planned it around a Queen size bed for guests. (yes, I forced myself to be practical – even though I wanted the whole space for my little gnomie self!) I love the color yellow and I found the perfect curtains on Wayfair.com. From that point on it all came together nicely and I am very happy with how it looks, functions and amount of storage I crammed into it.

One half of the room is sloped on each side (attic ceiling) so working within that boundary was unfortunate as I couldn’t put tall bookcases or pegboard/shelving on it. I compensated the loss of upward space by putting in more small drawer units and now the next step will be to label each drawer with my Brother label maker (OH! Be still my organizing heart!) It will save my ‘getting older brain’ from yanking open each and every drawer while looking for something specific.

Even the closet wasn’t safe from me! I tried to use every spare inch of it but still allow some room for a guest to hang a few clothes.

There is more spaces I would like to organize – such as utilizing the space above and to the side of my computer desk – but I have been able to get busy and make cards, crafts and basically have a ball in it! My grandson gets to sleep in here when he visits and he loves to stare at all the ‘possibilities’ for fun while trying to go to sleep. LOL

I hope you enjoyed peeking into my crafting area! I am thrilled to share it with you. 🙂 Now you know where all the ‘magic’ happens when the gnomies and I create cards, crafts and little fun gifts!

Have a Blessed and Wonderfully Gnomie Day!

As a future guest, just know that I will not be sleeping in the guest room, as I will be too busy “crafting” in there every night. 😍
