Gnomes are characterized by being cheerful and whimsical personalities. They are curious, playful and have a deep appreciation for nature. They are also known for their resourcefulness and cleverness! They love to invent activities and take spontaneous adventures which makes them both endearing and very entertaining to everyone they encounter.
The garden gnome came into being in Germany in 1872. They were named Gartenzwerge (garden dwarfs), a word that sounds exactly like a sneeze, which I think is very funny!
Have you heard about “Gnome Roaming”? (Think about the 2001 movie Amelie and also the Travelocity ad campaigns). It involves taking a gnome from a neighbor’s yard and periodically sending photos of the gnome on its trip. LOL There doesn’t seem to be a clear reason to do this other than the eternal question of “Why not?”. I’m all in!
