COLORADO OR BUST

Last week we went on a road trip to visit our youngest daughter who lives in “The Springs” AKA Colorado Springs. It’s a 10 hour drive from our house in Missouri and not a lot happens in that 10 hours. LOL We filled the time with podcasts and audio books (see below for recommendations and links). We had a great time! Papa Gnomie and Gus are great travel buddies and the trip went very well.

I did have a bout of ALTITUDE SICKNESS. (Yes people its a real thing! ACK!) Fatigue and headaches were my main symptoms but it also felt like a touch of motion sickness. NOT FUN. Thankfully it only lasted a couple of days and I was back on the mend, ready to enjoy myself! We did a lot of fun things but my favorite place would have to be Garden of the Gods hiking area and natural reserve. Great hiking paths, fantastic beauty and the visitors center is really nice.

Our daughters cooked delicious meals for us almost every night (YUM!) and spoiled us rotten so we didn’t eat out much but I would HIGHLY recommend the following two places; Por Favor Mexican Restaurant (absolutely delicious tacos!) and the Omelette Parlor for breakfast. Both food was tasty and well priced.

But of course the best and most fantastic highlight of our trip was the good hang with our daughter Kynna and our ‘bonus’ daughter Alli! They are the hostesses with the most-est! LOL We so enjoyed our time with them and came home feeling loved and well taken care of by them both.
